As New York City endured the recent blizzard, Correction Officers reported for duty despite dangerous travel conditions, record snowfall, and extended disruptions across the city.
While others were able to stay home, our members pushed through severe weather, long commutes, and prolonged tours to ensure the jails remained secure and operational. Many worked beyond their scheduled shifts, stayed over when relief could not arrive, and placed the mission above their own comfort and safety.
During the storm, members of the COBA Executive Board were on the ground checking on our members and providing support where it was needed most.
COBA recognizes the professionalism and dedication shown by our Correction Officers during this storm. Their willingness to endure difficult conditions without hesitation is a reminder of the critical role they play every day, regardless of circumstances.
